Fair Use Policy
The Unitarian Universalist History & Heritage Society is happy to have ministers, archivists, historians, students and others use articles and excerpts from articles from the Dictionary of Unitarian and Universalist Biography as long as there is clear attribution. We want the DUUB to be widely useful. Because the Dictionary of Unitarian and Universalist Biography is a project of the History and Heritage Society, funded by membership dues and donations, we request that at minimum (as in a first citation in an article or book) it be described as "the Dictionary of Unitarian and Universalist Biography, an on-line resource of the Unitarian Universalist History and Heritage Society."
A second credit line should include the name of the subject of the biography and the author's name. The author's name for each DUUB biography is listed at the bottom of the article.
For use in a display, a fuller description would be appropriate: "The Dictionary of Unitarian and Universalist Biography is an on-line resource of the Unitarian Universalist History & Heritage Society, and is accessed through the UUHHS and UUA websites. The UUHHS, which collaborates with other organizations in promoting and preserving our Unitarian Universalist history and heritage, is supported by donations and membership dues. The mailing address for the UUHHS is 27 Grove Street, Scituate, MA 02066."
